Mark Peden - Senior Investment Manager, European Equities

Mark peden

Mark joined AEGON in 1992 as an analyst within the European equity team. In 1994 he became the portfolio manager for the European Tactical Fund, which he ran until end-2003, and in 1998 was appointed Head of European Equities. In 2002 Mark was appointed Head of Retail Equity Funds, and in 2004 took on the role of Head of Mainstream International Equities and assumed fund management responsibility for the European life and pensions portfolios. In 2006 he was re-appointed as Head of European Equities. He graduated from the University of York and the University of California (Santa Barbara) with a BSc Honours degree in Economics with Politics. He is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an Associate member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP).

Elaine Morgan - Investment Manager, UK Equities

Elaine Morgan

Elaine joined in 1988 as a UK investment analyst, direct from Edinburgh University where she graduated with an MA in economics with law. Elaine became a UK fund manager in 1992 with responsibility for the Smaller Companies Pensions Fund which she still runs. In 1994 she took charge of our ethical fund range, which she ran for five before handing over to Audrey Ryan.  In June 2006 AEGON launched the UK Smaller Companies Fund which Elaine manages.  She is also a member of UKSIP. 

Phil Milburn – Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Phil Milburn

Phil joined AEGON in 1997. He is the fund manager of the High Yield Bond, Ethical Corporate Bond and European Bond funds as well as a high performance target segregated fund; he is also the support manager for the Sterling Corporate Bond, Investment Grade Bond and Global Bond funds. Phil's main research responsibility is covering high yield bonds. He holds a first class MA honours degree in economics from the University of Edinburgh. Phil is Citywire's UK Corporate Bond Manager of the Year for 2006 and Investment Week's UK Corporate Bond Fund Manager of the Year 2006.

Lousie Hogg - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Louise Hogg

Louise joined AEGON in 1999 as an investment manager in the fixed income team. She is the lead manager for a number of pooled and segregated mandates, with enhanced performance targets. She also has research responsibilities for the TMT sector. Louise holds a Diploma in investment analysis from the University of Stirling, and a BSc honours degree in maths from the University of Glasgow.

Colin Graham- Head of Japan Equities

Colin Graham

After gaining an MA honours degree in economics and law from the University of Edinburgh, Colin became an investment analyst on the Japan team in 1996. Colin gained an MSc in investment analysis from the University of Stirling in 1999. Colin has been an investment manager since September 1999 and has headed the Japan team since 2002. He has over ten years experience of the Japanese market.

Colin Finlayson - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Colin Finlayson

Colin joined AEGON in 2000 having graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BA Honours degree in Economics and Finance. He is a member of the Rates team within which he has research responsibilities for the US, European and Japanese Government bond markets. He is also the manager of a number of global Government bond life and pension funds. Colin is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA institute.

Abby Glennie - Trainee Investment Manager, Equities team

Abby Glennie

Abby joined AEGON Asset Management's graduate trainee programme in July 2007. She was educated at the University of Aberdeen, where she gained a first class honours degree in economics and finance.

Gordon Happell - Trainee Investment Manager, Equities team

Gordon Happell

Gordon Happell joined AEGON Asset Management in July 2006 after two years with Noble & Company in Edinburgh as a consumer sector analyst. Gordon has a degree in accounting from the University of Strathclyde.

Stavroula Savidou, IT

Stavroula Savidou

Stavroula joined the IT graduate programme in July 2006 as a Business Systems Analyst in the Analysis & Design team. She has since achieved her ISEB qualification in Business Systems Development (Business Analysis/Systems Design) and has been involved in many projects, as both joint and lead analyst. Stavroula holds a BSc Honours in Computing from the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside and an MSc in Interactive Multimedia from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh

Callum Squires, IT

Callum Squires

Callum joined the IT graduate programme in September 2007 as a Technical Support Analyst in the IT Support Team. He is currently working towards his MCITP DBA Microsoft qualification and has been involved in many projects and operational support roles. Callum holds a BSc Honours in Management and IT (with French) from the University of York.

Henry Philip, IT

Henry Philip

Henry joined as an IT graduate in September 2005, firstly as a Technical Support Analyst in the IT Support Team. He has since moved to the IT Development team to take on the role of Software Developer. Henry has been involved in many projects within AEGON, taking a lead developer role in many cases. Henry holds a BSc Honours in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh.

Mark Livingston, Finance

Mark Livingston

Mark joined AEGON Asset Management in August 2006 as a trainee accountant. His responsibilities include capital management plus financial reporting for AEGON AM’s statutory entities. Mark holds a BA Hons degree in Accounting from Dundee University and is currently working towards his ACMA qualification.

Ubong Umotong, Regulatory and Operational Risk

Ubong joined the Regulatory & Operational Risk team in August 2007 as a trainee monitoring consultant. He has since passed three IAQs (Investment Administration Qualification) in Introduction to Investment, Collective Investment Schemes and FSA Regulation and is going on to study for further qualifications. He has been involved in many monitoring activities and has performed solo reviews in a number of areas of our business. Ubong holds a BSc Hons (2:1) in Mathematics from the University of Warwick.

Jonathan Henry , Regulatory and Operational Risk

Jonathan joined the Regulatory & Operational Risk team in January 2008 as a trainee operational risk consultant. He is currently studying for IAQs (Investment Administration Qualification) and will then go on to study for the Securities Institute’s Advanced Certificate in Operational Risk.  Jonathan has been involved in many operational risk reviews with the business and supporting our business continuity plans. Jonathan holds a MA Hons (2:1) in Business Studies from Edinburgh University.
