Andrew Fleming - Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer

Andrew Fleming

Andrew joined AEGON as chief investment officer in February 2005 and has over 20 years' experience of investment management. In November 2005, he was appointed Managing Director of AEGON Asset Management. Prior to joining, Andrew was CIO and global head of portfolio management at ABN Amro for six-and-a-half years. At Gartmore from 1984 to 1998, he was a main board director and deputy CIO and head of equities. He also ran Gartmore’s Tokyo office (1987-1993) and a US joint venture with Nations Bank. Andrew read history at the University of York.

Bill Dinning - Head of Strategy

Bill Dinning

Bill Dinning joined AEGON in May 2004, and is responsible for the company's asset allocation process. Bill has over 20 years of investment experience, gained in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong and New York. He joined from UBS, where he was a global investment strategist in the equity research department, and before that he was a strategist at Merrill Lynch. Bill has an MA (Oxon) degree in politics, philosophy and economics from Trinity College, Oxford, and an MA in American government from Georgetown University, Washington DC.

Stephen Jones - Co Head of Fixed Income

Stepehn Jones

Stephen joined AEGON in February 2002. He is the lead fund manager of a number of long-dated pooled and segregated pension funds, and has direct management responsibility for the interest rate and yield curve investment managers. He directs and co-ordinates the institutional fixed income businesses' asset gathering, consultant and client relationships activities. Stephen has worked both in the investment banking environment - where he ran the new issue underwriting desk for Greenwich NatWest in London - and as an investment manager for Britannic Asset Management in Glasgow. Stephen holds a BA honours degree in law and economics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Innes McKeand - Head of Equities

Innes McKeand

Innes McKeand joined AEGON in September 2006. As head of the equity team, he manages and supports the fund managers on each of the regional equity desks. Innes joined from Allied Irish Bank (AIB) Investment Managers, where he was chief investment officer. Prior to AIB, he was head of investments at the Nestlé UK Pension trust and also spent 14 years with Scottish Life Assurance Company. Innes has an honours degree in physics from the University of Edinburgh and a master's degree in technological economics from the University of Stirling. He is an associate member of the Institute of Investment Management and Research.

David Roberts - Co Head of Fixed Income

David Roberts

David Roberts joined AEGON in March 2004. David manages the Sterling Corporate Bond and Global Bond portfolios. He joined AEGON from Britannic Asset Management, where he was head of credit and manager of the Britannic Corporate Bond and High Income Bond funds. David holds a degree in economics and an MSc in investment analysis. He is also a qualified member of the Institute of Bankers and an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

Stephen Adams - Head of UK Equities

Stepehen Adams

Stephen joined AEGON in July 2000 and is Head of UK Equities. Stephen also directly manages the UK Equity Fund. He was previously Head of UK tactical funds, with responsibility for higher performance target mandates. Prior to joining AEGON he was with Abbey National Asset Managers for 13 years, managing both retail and institutional portfolios. He spent one year there as Head of US Equities. Before joining Abbey National, Stephen trained and qualified as a solicitor. He is also a member of UKSIP.

Iain Buckle - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Iain Buckle

Iain joined AEGON in 2000 from Baillie Gifford, where he was a member of their fixed income team. He is an Investment Manager within the credit team and is responsible for managing a number of high performance target portfolios, including the Enhanced Corporate Bond Fund.  He is also responsible for analysing the securitised sector.  He spent his first three years at AEGON as a member of the rates team, with responsibility for analysing the gilt and index-linked market.  Iain holds an MA honours degree in economics from Heriot-Watt University and is a CFA charterholder.

Simon Carter - Head of North American Equities

Simon Carter

Simon joined AEGON in December 2004. He is Head of North American Equities and co-manages our aggressive global funds. From 2003, Simon worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and before that spent seven years at JPMorgan Investment Management, where he was head of US Equities in London. Between 1994 and 1996 he was director of US equity investments at Lazard Brothers Asset Management, and from 1987 to 1994 he worked as a portfolio manager at Royal Insurance Asset Management. Simon graduated from UMIST with a BSc (Hons) in management science. He is also a chartered financial analyst.

Yvonne Christie - Head of Insured Fixed Income

Yvonne Christie

Yvonne joined AEGON in 1982 as an actuarial trainee, moving to the fixed income desk in 1984. Yvonne has worked in all areas of fixed income management, specialising in analysing and managing government debt. She is currently the lead manager on the non-linked funds for SE and Guardian, working closely with the structured product team on investment solutions. She has a BSc honours degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Edinburgh.

Laura Gallacher - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Laura Gallacher

Laura spent three years as an analyst on the strategy desk before joining the bond desk, where she manages the SEI Short Term Bond Fund and institutional segregated funds. Currently her research focuses on the industrial sector. Laura joined AEGON in 2000, having previously worked as a property analyst at Standard Life Investments. She has an honours degree in mathematics from the University of Strathclyde and is a CFA charterholder.

Colin Graham- Head of Japan Equities

Colin Graham

After gaining an MA honours degree in economics and law from the University of Edinburgh, Colin became an investment analyst on the Japan team in 1996. Colin gained an MSc in investment analysis from the University of Stirling in 1999. Colin has been an investment manager since September 1999 and has headed the Japan team since 2002. He has over ten years experience of the Japanese market.

Philip Haworth - Investment Manager, UK Equities

Philip Haworth

Philip joined AEGON as a graduate trainee in 1995 and has 12 years experience on the UK Equity team. He manages a number of UK equity funds, researches the Oil & Gas and Food Producers sectors, and produces the UK team's strategy product. Philip graduated from Oxford University in 1994 with a degree in politics, philosophy and economics.

Mark Kedar - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Mark Kedar

Mark is the lead fund manager for the UK Corporate Bond pooled fund. His responsibilities also encompass credit research where he is responsible for analysing the insurance and property sectors. Prior to joining AEGON in 1997, Mark was at Valu-Trac Investment Management for three years, working within quantitative research and fund management. Mark holds a first class BSc honours degree in mathematics from the University of Strathclyde and an MSc in investment analysis.

Euan McNeil - Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Euan McNeil

Euan joined AEGON in 2003 from Britannic Asset Management, where he spent the previous two years on the corporate bond desk. Prior to joining Britannic, Euan was a portfolio manager covering Far East equities at Blairlogie, a boutique asset manager based in Edinburgh. In his current role, Euan is a support manager for the Sterling Corporate, Ethical Corporate, Global Bond and High Yield Bond funds, and lead manager of several pension funds. His primary research responsibilities are for the high yield sector. Euan has an honours degree in economics and French from the University of Strathclyde, and an MSc in investment analysis from the University of Stirling.

John McNeill - Head of International Rates, Fixed Income

John McNeil

John joined AEGON in August 2006 from Resolution Asset Management, where he spent six years managing overseas government bonds. Prior to that, John was a founding member of the economic consultancy IDEA in London and he also served as a bond strategist for Sutherlands in Edinburgh. John has an honours degree in economics from the University of Strathclyde and is a CFA charterholder.

Phil Milburn – Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Phil Milburn

Phil joined AEGON in 1997. He is the fund manager of the High Yield Bond, Ethical Corporate Bond and European Bond funds as well as a high performance target segregated fund; he is also the support manager for the Sterling Corporate Bond, Investment Grade Bond and Global Bond funds. Phil's main research responsibility is covering high yield bonds. He holds a first class MA honours degree in economics from the University of Edinburgh. Phil is Citywire's UK Corporate Bond Manager of the Year for 2006 and Investment Week's UK Corporate Bond Fund Manager of the Year 2006.

Elaine Morgan - Investment Manager, UK Equities

Elaine Morgan

Elaine joined in 1988 as a UK investment analyst, direct from Edinburgh University where she graduated with an MA in economics with law. Elaine became a UK fund manager in 1992 with responsibility for the Smaller Companies Pensions Fund which she still runs. In 1994 she took charge of our ethical fund range, which she ran for five before handing over to Audrey Ryan.  In June 2006 AEGON launched the UK Smaller Companies Fund which Elaine manages.  She is also a member of UKSIP. 

Stuart J Fraser - Head of European Equities

Alastair Duffy

Stuart joined AEGON Asset Management in February 2008 as Head of European Equities. He is responsible for the overall management of the European equity team and its range of funds. Prior to joining AEGON, Stuart spent over 11 eleven years at Standard Life Investments as Investment Director of European Equities. He also worked at Britannia Investment Managers as Head of European Equities. Stuart has an LLB (Hons) in Forensic Medicine from Glasgow University and is an associate member of the CFA UK.

Audrey Ryan - Investment Manager, UK Equities

Audrey Ryan

Audrey joined AEGON in January 1997 from General Accident Plc where she was a UK small companies portfolio manager. She qualified as a chartered accountant in 1993 after graduating with a degree in accountancy. She also has an MSc in investment analysis. Audrey has managed AEGON 's Ethical Equity Fund since 1999. She is a sector specialist in several UK small-cap sectors together with the travel & leisure and electronics & electricals sectors.

Douglas Scott- Investment Manager, UK Equities

Douglas Scott

Douglas joined AEGON in 2003, having previously worked as a stockbroker for Investec. Douglas started in investment management in 1996 as a UK equity analyst for Abbey National and subsequently worked for the Lucas Varity Pension Fund as a fund manager. He is an associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP), and has a first class honours degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Glasgow.

Peter Shaw - Investment Manager, UK Equities

Peter Shaw

Peter joined AEGON in July 2000. His current responsibilities include management of the UK Equity Tactical Pension Fund, UK small companies funds and analysis of several UK small and mid-cap sectors together with the technology, transport and auto sectors.  Peter graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1996 with a BCom joint honours degree in business studies and accountancy. He qualified as a CA in 1999 and is a Member of the Securities Institute.

Ryan Smith - Head of Corporate Governance & SRI

Ryan Smith Ryan joined AEGON in October 2000 as an SRI analyst and was appointed to his current position in September 2002. Before joining AEGON, he worked as an environmental chemist. Ryan holds the CFA charter.

Kirsten Stirling - Head of UK Rates

Kirsten Stirling

Kirsten is responsible for gilt and index linked strategy within the rates team. She is also the lead fund manager for the UK Government, UK Index Linked and UK Long Gilt pooled funds, as well as being one of the fund managers of institutional pension funds with segregated mandates. Kirsten joined AEGON in June 2000, having previously worked as an investment manager for Baillie Gifford. She holds a first class BSc honours degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of St Andrews, and is ASIP qualified.

Helen Webster - Head of Product Strategy

Helen Webster

Helen joined AEGON in 1993 as an actuarial trainee. Following a restructure in 2006, she was appointed Head of Product Strategy covering the Retail-Fund, Institutional and Insured business lines. Previous roles within AEGON include Head of Institutional Marketing and Head of Product Development for the Retail-Fund business line. Helen has a first class honours degree in physics from Edinburgh University, and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.

Iain Wells- Investment Manager, UK Equities

Iain Wells

Iain worked with Edinburgh Fund Managers and Dunedin Fund Managers before joining AEGON in 1996 as an investment manager on the Far East desk. In May 2002 he switched to a pure analysis role within AEGON, with responsibility for analysis of the global insurance sectors. In February 2004, he joined the UK mainstream team, where he analyses the insurance, retail, and engineering sectors, and manages a number of distribution funds. Iain graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce honours degree from the University of Edinburgh, and gained his MBA in 2001. Iain is a member of UKSIP.
