The primary investment objective is to maximise total return (income plus capital) by investing in sterling-denominated bonds issued by a company or organisation which meets the fund's predefined ethical criteria. Investments may encompass investment grade corporate bonds, cash and up to 10% of the fund in high yield bonds.

Phil Milburn
Investment Manager, Fixed Income

Phil joined AEGON in 1997. He is the fund manager of the High Yield Bond, Ethical Corporate Bond and European Bond funds as well as a high performance target segregated fund; he is also the support manager for the Sterling Corporate Bond, Investment Grade Bond and Global Bond funds. Phil's main research responsibility is covering high yield bonds. He holds a first class MA honours degree in economics from the University of Edinburgh. Phil is Citywire’s UK Corporate Bond Manager of the Year for 2006 and Investment Week's UK Corporate Bond Fund Manager of the Year 2006.
