American Equity Fund
Fund Objective
The primary investment objective is to maximise total return by investing principally in equities and equity type securities in companies based in the American continent (including both North and South America), principally conducting business in the American continent or listed on the US stock exchange.

Simon Carter
Head of North American Equities
Simon joined AEGON Asset Management in December 2004. He is Head of North American Equities and co-manages our aggressive global funds. From 2003, Simon worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and before that spent seven years at JPMorgan Investment Management, where he was head of US Equities in London. Between 1994 and 1996 he was director of US equity investments at Lazard Brothers Asset Management, and from 1987 to 1994 he worked as a portfolio manager at Royal Insurance Asset Management. Simon graduated from UMIST with a BSc (Hons) in management science. He is also a chartered financial analyst.
